Ardius is seeking a Qualitative Associate who is passionate about writing to produce audit supporting documentation in relation to tax credit studies. This is an opportunity to study innovative companies, understand their businesses, and summarize their accomplishments.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Work within the Qualitative Team to conduct research and development tax credit consulting services, including participating in client interviews and discussions, performing basic tax technical research, and developing business and industry expertise
  • Actively participating in credit discussions and meetings and interviewing individuals at various levels of an organization in order to identify R&D qualified activities and expenses
  • Drafting/compiling written documentation to support the R&D tax credit, with a strong sense of attention to detail based on the regulations from the IRS, research credit case law, and utilizing R&D databases.
  • Assist in implementing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Assist in identifying and addressing client needs.
  • Creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members


Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Detail oriented
  • Search skill on Google, Linkedin and/or Crunchbase
    • to understand the client’s product recent development or product release;
    • to learn of environment changes such as fundraising, news release, M&A event, globalization plan and
    • to assess the vendors’ work scope for the R&D activities and location info for any forign location vendors
  • Well organized note taking skills to capture the accurate info during meetings and provide appropriate documentation to internal and external parties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google applications including Word, Excel, Google Doc and Google spreadsheet along with experience performing internet research
  • Strong oral communication skills – for example, able to conduct well organized interviews.
  • Strong technical written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college/university
  • 0 to 1 year of tax experience in a public accounting firm or corporate taxation experience
  • Professional writing experiences geared towards different audiences that may include one of the following: Legal, grant writing, technical manuals, compliance or procedure manuals, research.
  • Knowledge of tax return structure and different entities tax treatment is a plus.
